These elevators are lightweight and are ergonomically designed with small handles to improve gripping power, allowing increased control and comfort during extraction procedures and are shaped to improve instrument adaptation to the root structure. When the instruments are used in a side-to-side rocking/twisting motion, blades provide additional leverage especially when used between teeth in the interdental space. The winged-blades will hook under the buccal bulge, improving the angle of direction in order to lift the tooth and root.
