There are a lot of different blood tests out there and it can be tough to keep track of all the abbreviations. But don't worry, we're here to help! Here's a quick guide to some of the most common blood tests and what they stand for.

CBC: Complete Blood Count. This test measures the levels of various cells in your blood, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.

BMP: Basic Metabolic Panel. This test measures your levels of glucose, calcium, electrolytes, and more. It's often used to check for kidney function.

CMP: Comprehensive Metabolic Panel. This test is similar to the BMP, but it also measures liver function, lipid levels, and protein levels.

LDL: Low-Density Lipoprotein. This type of cholesterol is often called "bad" cholesterol because high levels can increase your risk for heart disease.

HDL: High-Density Lipoprotein. This type of cholesterol is often called "good" cholesterol because high levels can protect against heart disease.

triglycerides: Triglycerides are a type of fat found in your blood. High triglyceride levels can increase your risk for heart disease.
